Intense Service

Over the years the behaviors, emotional issues, lack of stability, and normalization experience in our resident population has become more severe. The very core of many issues facing some of our residents more often than not includes human trafficking and PTSD.

Enrichment Program

We realize some of our residents require more intense service. The issues facing these children, male and female, require additional services. Horizon Project has developed an Enrichment Program for the intense residents. These residents are the victims of sexual, physical, and psychological abuse. This marvelous program addresses the post-traumatic symptoms, which develop as a result of chaotic childhood incidents.

This program includes the following:

Yoga

Meditation

Art

Computer Programming

Golf

Equestrian

Football

Basketball

Rock climbing

Gardening

Ecology

And much more

The meditation component gives residents the skills and experience to decrease stress and gain insight into the destructive behaviors that develop. The residents in this program cycle through these activities throughout the year, which are provided in a small-group setting. The residents benefit from the individual attention and are introduced to new experiences. For example, our golf program gives the residents physical activity, as well as coordination, balance, and the rules of the sport. The instructor is a teacher and role model who is able to connect with the residents on multiple levels in this optimized small-group setting.
